Ronny Mills Detone Recording Artist
A native of Gary, Indiana, Ronny began playing the piano and organ at Universal Baptist Church at the age of ten. The founders of this church were Rev. Jesse and Norma Mills, his parents. The following are some of Ronny's accomplishments:
1981: A featured performer in the "Black History Celebration" at Olivet Nazerene College in Kankakee, Illinois.
1983: Moved to Oakland, California and has worked with many churches in the San Francisco Bay Area such as: New Life Center Church of the Nazerene-Oakland, First Union Baptist Church - San Francisco, Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church - Oakland, Jones-Memorial CME Church - San Francisco, First AME Church - Oakland, and at present, St. Paul AME Church, Berkely.
1989: Ronny began writing music at this time beginning with his first song titled, "Why Do We Doubt God's Word."
1992: Ronny produced his first album, "Taking Gospel Music Higher" by Emmitt Powell and The Gospel Elites.
1993: Appeared as opening act for Twinkie Clark of the famed Clark Sisters in Los Angeles, California.
1994: Performed in the "Bobby Jones Gospel Explosion" in San Francisco, California.
1994-'96: Appeared as special guest at the "Black History Celebration" at Stanford University in Palo, California.
1997: Appeared in several television shows, such as: "Coast To Coast Ministries" - Channel 42, "Gospel Search" - TCI Cable Channel 26, "Alfreda and Success" - TCI Cable Channel 26.
1998: Ronny has completed his solo recording Well Done" which will be released the winter of 1998. He will also be involved in producing music for other artists.
